If you get a call from anyone claiming to be from or acting on behalf of Microsoft, TalkTalk, BT, especially if they start by saying that you have a problem with your router or PC: HANG UP the phone, don’t be polite to these people, they are trying to rip you off for every penny that you have, they are scum and should be treated as such.
If you try to talk to them in any way they will just keep on hassling you, trying to convince you that you have a virus or have been hacked. The fact of the matter is “these scum bags are the ones who are trying to hack in to your computer”. When you pick up the phone and you are unsure as to whether or not they are genuine, believe me they are not, just put the phone down, If you try and reason with them they will constantly pester you with more calls.
No company like BT, Microsoft, TalkTalk will ever call you and say that they have been monitoring your system/computer/network if they did they would be admitting to an illegal act.
Put the phone down on the SCUM or wind them up if you want but do not let them have access to your computer and never under any circumstances pay anyone who has randomly called you claiming to be working on behalf of any company.
